Hey, I’m Rid and this is my blog, Mana Worm. I started Mana Worm to talk about board games— usually ones I have enjoyed and want others to play, but probably also ones that have burrowed their way into my brain and need to be excised via writing.
Outside of working and playing board games, I’m big into literature and watching/talking about the Indiana Pacers. I occasionally play video games and some TTRPGs, too, which may also leak into this site.
I’d also like to thank my friends and family for putting up with playing games with me, as well as my siblings (especially Josh) for helping with basic web design and the site’s logo.

Rating System
Most everything you see here on mana worm I’m writing about because I want to share it– so I mainly write reviews of games I enjoy. I have a rating system though, because it feels like the type of thing reviewers do.
★☆☆☆☆ — I don’t think I’ll ever use the dreaded one star. One star games are games I would not play.
★★☆☆☆ — These are games that are worse than average, but if I’m covering them, it’s probably because I think there is something interesting in there.
★★★☆☆ — I enjoy this game and would happily play it, but it isn’t my first pick at game night.
★★★★☆ — These are the games I do bring to game night. Stuff I’m really happy to recommend.
★★★★★ — Like four stars, but better. An essential mana worm title.
